American Monument Company is locally owned and operated. We are celebrating our 16 th year of serving Southern Illinois . The company was purchased from Harold Adams in 1988. Mr. Adams had been in the monument business for more than 40 years. He got his start with Thurman's Monument Company and then later went in business for himself. Mr. Adams continued to work in the company for several years. During this time, he personally, trained Scott Patterson, the current owner, in all aspects of monument craftsmanship.

The strengths of our company are top quality craftsmanship and friendly customer service. We use only local artists and craftsmen. We believe strongly in employing people who understand and care about the needs of our customers. We continue to offer personal service striving to meet each individual need as if it was our own.

American Monument Company is a member of the Monument Builders of North America (MBNA). We regularly attend conferences to keep abreast of the latest designs and techniques in the monument industry. We offer many types of engraving and diamond etchings.

We offer a wide variety of monuments and mausoleums. We also have a line of bronze products as well as sandstone, granite and marble signs. Additionally, we offer a wide variety of granite and marble products for the home.
